Your card, your certificates, and printed copies

Your Africa Youth Card is proof of who you are on this platform. It carries your member ID, your card serial and your tier, and you can see it and download it from My card at any time.

It is not a payment card. It holds no money and cannot be spent. If you are ever handed something that looks like an AYC card and are told to load money onto it, that did not come from us — tell us.

Tiers recognise programmes you have finished. Every member starts at Bronze, which simply means you are a member. Silver is one completed programme and Gold is three. Tiers are never sold, and they never change whether you can apply for something — a programme's eligibility is its age range, its countries and its deadline, and nothing else.

Your certificates appear on the same page when a programme marks you complete. Each has a serial anyone can check on the verification page without an account, which is what makes it worth something to an employer. You can download a certificate and send it to anyone.

Everything above is digital by default, because digital arrives immediately and costs nothing. If you need a printed card or certificate — for an interview, an office that wants paper, or your own records — you can ask for one from My card. We only collect a delivery address at that point, and never before.

A printed card is a PVC card. Nothing is posted unless you have asked for it, and you can follow the state of your request on the same page.

If your card is lost, tell us and we will issue a new one. The old serial stops being valid, which is why the serial is on the card in the first place.
